I have wanted to setup a frag tank for a while and it's time to get serious. I'm interested in a Deep Blue 60g rimless frag tank (48x24x12). Anyone have one or heard about these tanks? Also, is there an online dealer I could order from? Doesn't look like there's any dealers in my area.

If you have one, please post a pic! Would love to see other frag tank types and sizes as well. Trying to make a decision on the best option - mix of quality, function and price. Lots of great custom tanks out there, but I'm not that keen on spending $700-800 + shipping on a frag tank.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

sleeri, i got quoted at 449 shipped for the deep blue 80 gallon, and then rimless was like 549

I have the deepblue 30 frag tank. It's 24x24x12. I really like the tank and it has worked out well for me. The only problem with the deepblue tanks in my opinion is the bulkheads and other plumbing they come with. If you replace that stuff I dot think you can go wrong with it.

I am picking up a 45g deep blue frag tank tomorrow (48 x 18 x 12). I have only heard good things about the tanks and bad about the stands. Getting a marine land stand and canopy.

I know KyleCT has two of them setuo as frag tanks. If you search his threads he has a few pictures of them.

I'll be picking up the 80 rimless within a few weeks...can't wait!

sent from never never land...

I have the 60 gallon (not rimless) with corner overflow. I'm very happy with it. I would think you would need to find a dealer local as shipping would be expensive.

I have a 30 gal DB Rimless, no issues and love it. Fish room has several 80 Rimless planned.

i have a 48x48x12 and it fits sooooooo many frags had it built for 798.00 you may want to check into something like that btw it's rimless, with rim was much cheaper

My LFS sells 80 gal rimless drilled, with DB's version of "star fire" glass for 500.

What's everyone using for flow in their frag tanks? Are you using live rock (main tank or sump)?

In my 30g frag tank I have a mag 5 for my return pump, an mp10 for a majority of the flow and a small korilla that is aimed under my frag racks to keep detritus from building up. As far as live rock I have it in my sump

Thanks Kschweer, I like the idea of running flow under the racks. How much LR do you keep in the sump? Was that used to seed the system (in addition to long term filtration)?

I have about 25 pounds in my sump. I used the rock to seed the tank and cycle it
