So I am going to be setting up a frag tank Saturday morning in anticipation of my wwc order. never had one before not sure on how it will work, but....
Here is my plan:

30 gal breeder 36x18x18 non drilled
hob filter model 50
https://www.aqueonproducts.com/products/filtration/quietflow-led-pro-aquarium-power-filters
50 watt heater
1 small power head opposite of the hob. (both on the short sides pointing across tank

what about a bubble filter?? or will bubbles be bad?

I have an old t5 fixture with almost new bulbs in it <running led on main but have fixture for now>

I have a big sponge in my sump that's been in there for a long time im going to put this into the hob with carbon and purigen.

Does this sound like the right idea?? I have a bunch of the eggcrate stuff for frag racks.

Usually i'd recommend having the frag tank plumbed into the DT but if that's not an option, i'd say you're on the right track. i'd avoid the bubble/sponge filter as some corals you get in the future may get agitated by the bubbles. Getting a small powerhead is also something you may want to look into for a bit of extra flow.

THANKS! I do have a couple older power heads. I don't really want to plumb it into my dt because ill be putting new corals in it as a type of qt for now. I don't want to have an ich outbreak due to a coral addition lol. and I Want to give everything the best chances. also have a couple of other corals in my dt that im gonna be removing and putting over into this after I observe polyp extention and get it set in well.
