Hey guys so a quick question, i'm setting up a frag tank, its about 65 gallons or so, my question is do i need to have live rock in this setup? I have a sump but its only like 20 gallons pr so, and i was just planning on setting up a deep sand bed in the sump and a few pieces of live rock. So are live rock needed? I do have a good skimmer for this and it will only have a few fish. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Live rock isn't needed in the tank, but you definitely need some sort of biological filtration. This is where the live rock comes in. Live rock, not dead, but real, cured, established live rock. A skimmer is also a good idea as is decent flow and lighting.
