Frag Tank / system build

Hello all. I will post documenting my new build of my frag tank / system. This is the first time I post a build. I hope to get it out there with clear details an good pictures. I'll be looking for some feed back. I hope this can help someone in the future or on there current build. Happy reefing.

40gal breeder diy sump
x2 ecotech radion lights
ecotech M1 vectra return pump
Bubble Magus BM100SE limited edition skimmer.
I'm yet to get a refugium light

it all started with the stand. 49x25. 36"+ in hight I think. I have to double check. I like a 1/2" on each end. no real reason why.

I have to sand an paint the stand yet. I like to use oil based paint. I like gray

I like stands with extra space. I don't get why all stands are literally to the ends on each side.

yeah idk y. I only left a little extra space. I was going to with a collapsible shelf in the front but I have a work bench where I'll be fragging ect

good question bud. I actually just cut my overflow baffle. an curved it into the shape I want. I am in between on drain style. bean durso idk. I do want 2 1" drains one as a back up. 3/4" return

here is the skimmer. I'm a fan of BM. this will actually be my first DC skimmer pump. I heard good things about it. it does not have a controlle. but the skimmer has 2 gate wheels that will help me control the water flow levels in it. its a little big for this system but I was planning on 2 of these tanks in the future. I won't be running it 24/7

You’ve confirmed the bottom isn’t tempered? Because that would suck!

yes I did before I bought it. the whole tank is non tempered. so you can drill it anywhere you want. there are 2 types. this is the true frag tank

Nice. I just had a run in with s FULLY tempered 29g... ruined my day but I got it switched out for free.

this was my first sketch of how I wanted to do my sump. the first chamber like the aqueon #4 but after sizing things up in a cardboard cut test. I realized I didn' have enough space lengthwise.
