frag tank

so i’ve set up a frag/qt tank about a month or so ago, i took live rock and ceramic bio media from my display to get it cycling. i do a wc every week from my display to add some bacteria in slowly while also dosing 2 capfuls of dr tim’s, as now i only have a cuc in there only question i have is it going to continue cycling even though i don’t have a running light right now, i plan on adding an ai prime 16hd i have two that just need to be serviced so hopefully in the near future ill have that going.

If you are not going to add fish then you don’t need to cycle it

Good find and good luck w it. It’ will cycle regardless of light. It will go thru an ugly phase tho once the light is introduced.

i’m not sure what i want to do with it i want to have a qt tank since my brother in law had velvet and lost everything but i want it to be a grow out tank but it’s not like i can add some cleaning fish like tangs and wrasses

If you are not going to add fish then you don’t need to cycle it.

Mayb a wrasse like six line for pest control in that size and snails mix for algae

You cant qt with a cuc sadly. You could use it as a observation tank.
