I looking for some ideas for a frag tanks. My corals are growing like crazy and its getting a little packed in my tank. What would be a cheaper way to start a frag tank?

What size are you looking for? You can get a low boy frag tank for optimal space.. or you can do a 40b for a bit cheaper. You can make frag racks from egg crate and pvc pipe by glueing pvc legs onto the egg crate. Depending on your system, you could hook up your frag tank with your dt (so you don't have to spend money on another sump/ canister/ hob filter) you may want to add a 6 line wrasse and possibly a kole/ bristletooth tang for pest/ algae control. I'd go bare bottom with minimal rock work for the fish/ critters.

I would highly recommend a six line wrasse to eat pests it would be a real shame if a disease spread through your frag tank and killed all off your corals

well i do have an extra 10 gallon with a orbit marine led sitting under my 20 long, so if i could find a way to hook it up to my 20 gallon that would be perfect.

20 gallon long hooked up to your DT, plus a smaller cheapish fixture like the sunblaze and it will only cost you around 250$. That's pretty cheap, to me at least.

The 10g would work great.. I'd still use the egg crate/pvc for the frag rack.. is your light full of 1w LEDs or .5w LEDs? As far as inhabitants go, 10g is a bit small for most traditional frag tank fish.. you could go with a smaller lawnmower blenny (start it as small as possible) or a hectors goby (eats hair algae and sand sifts). You could also throw in a couple asst snails for added assistance. Possibly a lettuce nudibranch if you ever have green algae problems

and i have a nano skimmer on it as well

For combining the system, you can use a HOB siphon system, then pump it back up w/ a small return pump... or you could drill your tank.. whichever works best for you
