So I want to build a frag tank and I'm stuck on lighting. I have LEDs over my dt but how hurtful would it be to put t5s over my frag tank? I know they say you should stick with the same but what happens if you don't?

You can do it that way...however, the growth and color might change.....I would check out cheaper black box leds ...they can get you the light and intensity you need usually with less $ and save you light bulb changes every 6 months.

Ok let's throw this at you guys. I got a 20L I think it's 36" long. Pic an LED light

A 20L is 30" in length. A 16" light will give 7" on each end for coral that doesn't need a ton of light. If it's raised a little, maybe a foot or so, you could probably grow anything in every area of the tank.

Got it. 100 par or so.
My 16in covers a 20x20 almoost perfectly from 14 in. Fwiw
