Has anyone tried to cut a frag off there chalice with no corallite. If so did it live and did it form a corallite.

Yes, My Red WM will live without. Frags usually develop their own mouth fairly quick.

Really that's awesome. Because of the demand for my Flame Thrower I have been considering trying this but am a bit nervous. How big do you cut them and when you say they develop a corallite fairly quick how long are you talking.

I have fragged my Tyree Original Watermelon a few times without eyes. They all lived but I feed more coral frenzy and oyster eggs in the tank.

It can work but from what I understand it is hit or miss, you should try one and see if it's gonna work for you

Yes you can, but it will probably take 1-2 months before the mouth fully forms and is functional.

Thanks for the info guy's. Maybe I'll try it on one of my less expensive corals first.
