Hey guys as some may know about 2 weeks ago I dosed my tank in a rush and killed a few corals my wall hammer has 3 heads of which the head on the left side has completely died and melted away the middle was ok but its not looking to hot right now so I want to see how I can frag it so that the right head that is still perfect can have a chance of surviving

Band saw is what I usually see them cut With. They needed a super clean cut to avoid killing the whole thing

There is a member of my local reef club who fragged it very carefully with a dremel and larger size diamond wheel. He has a steady hand and got a nice clean cut on the coral. It survived and the frags are healing nicely.

However do not take this as fact and a guarantee of survival. You are fragging a specimen with issues already so any stress can kill it. Fragging however may be its best course for survival. You have the dice in your hand so make an educated decision and cross your fingers...

i spoke with my lfs they said they will do it with there bandsaw i dont want to risk at least ill know if it dies that it wasnt because i cut it with the dremel

I fragged my wall hammer with a Dremel not long ago for similar reasons. Go slow and keep the blade wet.

Well 4 day after I took it to get fragged its looking healthy and happy
