Hey guys,

I am looking into fragging acans. It looks like there is multiple ways to do it, but I believe the best is to use some time of band saw to cut carefully and cleanly around the heads.

My question is what is a decent affordable saw and blade to do this with?

Is there better methods? Please share.

Probably the most common 2 are the inland bandsaw @ about $250 and the gryphon saw @ about $380. I have the inland and it works great. The gryphon is supposedly better quality and they just came out with a new model that retails over $400. And it has a large clearance for cutting big pieces

Hope this helps.

Bandsaw or if the colony is large, go to town on it. They will recover in due time. Use some sort of dip as well to help prevent infection.

I watched a video of some one using a Dremel seemed like a band saw is a much better idea for it...

anyone use the dremel with diamond saw?
Dremel can work for acans that don't have a lot of skeleton but if you have little or no experience using one, you can easily overheat the coral, burn it and ultimately kill it.
