I was fragging my utter chaos and slipped with the scalpel and sliced/cut into a on of the polyps. Prob not a good idea but I put a really small amount of glue over the wound to heal/prevent infection. So it's been 5 days since the accident and it is still opening fine. The question I have is there are 2 small polyps coming off of it and I was wondering if the adult dies, will the babies die too? Each of the baby polyps are open are a little bigger than a bb.

Thanks!

WOW! I didn't think about "gluing" the polyp back together... like liquid stitches... that's funny. I think the chemicals thwarted from the parents may effect it. Im not an expert though. Ill tell you what... id cut the adult out and mount somewhere else... amazing genetic.

I doubt the babies will die. Post some pics so we can see :). I would say if it is opening then you did an excellent job placing the glue and it may be okay. Actually it may think its dieing and make more babies faster!

once the 'babies' are there, they are there to stay. They are independent entities and do not rely on any other polyp to sustain life. I have chopped up zoas and shrooms into several pieces in order to produce more of them instead of waiting for them to split on their own. They are pretty rugged (unless they are really expensivem ones )

Thanks for the great info! I'll try to get a pic soon. I'm just surprised this zoa is still alive bc utter chaos are usually sensitive.

Just keep an eye on it. I think if it was going to die it would have done it already. But sometimes If 1 zoa dies it takes the rest with it. If you see it starts to go downhill frag them asap. If not you should try to do it again and put half of another paly and see if you can graft 2 ****** zoos lol.

Here is a pic of the the Utter chaos that I bumped. I have it on its own frag plug just in case it dies and its still doing fine.

Good news. I'm glad it's doing well. With it being this long I would say it will be just fine.
