Fragging montipora

My new clam wasn't placed in a good position so it fell and broke off a piece of monitpora, little bigger than a quarter so I figured I would frag it. Do I need to attach this to a rock or just put it straight into the frag tank?

I would just place it on frag rack they will bounce back quick!
