I have recently had a huge growth spurt in my zoas and I want to get into fragging as some of my zoas are taking over my structures. So my questions are:
Can I frag the zoas inside of my tank as my structures
Are all secured?
What is the best way about going about fragging?
Any tips/tricks are greatly appreciated
I know I have more questions just can't think of them off the top of my head.

Thanks all

Thanks for the link.. I have read many like this but nothing I can really find about fragging in your tank. As opposed to having a frag on a tiny rock and being able to do what you want with it.
I guess it's pretty much the same deal

Turn out your lights to get them to close up

Use a credit card or something to poke around where they are attached.

Snip and glue.....make sure to turn off all flow or you'll just have random zoos flyin around.

I do it in my tank all the time. Start on the outer edge. Use a flat dull piece of metal. I use a super dull scalpel. Peel up the edge as close to the rock as you can get. When you get the zoa up a bitpush the flat metal under and slowly pry it up. Keep going till you have dislodged the zoas you wish to remove then just cut the connectong tissue. If you are slow and careful most or all the zoas will be connected still. Glue the base onto a frag. That's how I do it. I've done this with sunny ds, ked reds, ra dragon eyes, pink and gold pally, armour of gods, eagle eyes and purple people eaters. Worked for me with no ill effect to the tank.

i hate buying fragged zoas like this because you are relying on the super glue itself to adhere the mat, with only a polyp or two the yALWAYS dislodge themselves from the superglue never to be found again.

Ah ha. But a good reefer in my opinion would give the frag time to grow before selling. I always use very little glu and wai t atleast a week before selling. I always have atleast one polyp grow in before selling personally. And most grow super fast so its not an issue. My ked reds are attaching to the rack every two days. I have to keep spinning It. Not only for the reciever but for the health of the coral. Stress from fragging then new tank...
