Went back and forth to post here or the lounge please delete if not appropriate here.

I am wondering what the local scene is for everyone with frag swaps. When I first got in the hobby late 90's early 2000's they were awesome great group of guys usually in a large basement or house of a fellow reefer. People wanting to help people and give great deals. Now after a long break;
In my area they all seem commercialized just to make a buck, very few hobbyist selling off trimming, more just grow farms trying to push the hottest corals. At larger venues not houses and charging admission when the table costs from the vendors most likely pays for the space. It is kinda disappointing not from just a $$$ side as I recently bought some high end pieces and I am glad they are available from retailers, but just has a terrible feel to it if that makes sense.
And call me crazy but I loved fresh cuts to glue where I wanted or to rubble instead of awful looking "frag plugs"

Try hitting up a local club. Local clubs are a great way to network for home grown frags.
