So I picked up this frammer at the coral show here in Vegas 2 weeks ago and it is doing great and growing fast. However, there is a lot of algae growing on the skeletal base. I plan on dipping in revive again before putting on main display tank (today or tomorrow). My question is, is it safe to brush this algae off with a toothbrush and not hurt the coral? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks for the quick answers. What I figured. Just wanted to be sure. Should I dip again before adding to main display? (Revive coral cleaner)

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont believe Revive does much for algae.

Personally, I'd dip the stem in H202, taking care to keep the polyps untouched. Or I would make an H202 dilution and just dip the whole frag. If that makes you nervous, you could just manually remove as much as possible, then baste it a bit too.

My frammer had some algae like that as well. I did a hydrogen peroxide dip and then manually scrubbed off the algae. Also did it with some other frags I got from the same place, since they were covered in GHA.... Seems to have worked for me.
