I got home this morning after a night shift and noticed what looked like a piece of sea grass in my tank. Upon closer inspection, I saw a long, thin, clear fish. Yesterday we added two fish, a feather duster, and a cleaner pack (snails, stars, cucumbers) to our tank. I knew our hitchhiker had to have come from the cucumbers leading me to believe it was a pearl fish. Leading to my question...should I be concerned? We have corals, anemones, a snowflake eel, lion fish, lemon peel, and blonde naso tang who are all “friends”. Can the pearl fish cause problems? Or will our wimpy predators hurt it?

Hi and welcome to R2R.

I have never heard of anyone having an issue with a Pearl Fish. Seems like it can flee to the cucumber if being picked on and it what ever the cucumber is having.
Very cool hitch-hiker.
