Freckles on my Stones!!

Hi there,

My rocks have tiny red/brown "Freckles" they popped up almost all at once. It's a new system water in tank early October. Have you seen or know what these are?

Nope. And I tried picking at them to see if it would come off, but they don't. It's almost like coralline algae but brown.

Anyone seen this before? is it the start of a major algae bloom?

Guys, I think it’s coralline algae. I’m not 100% sure but it looks like some of the dots have turned purple. This is my first tank using dead reef saver rock. Is it normal for coralline to pop up every where all at the same time? Tank is only 3 months old. This would also explain my huge alk and cal consumption.
