My Tank Thread
So, I've noticed this for a long time, but just thought I might get some thoughts from others.
I haven't "fed" my corals for a long time. I keep a decent sized fuge that stays fairly well packed with chaeto and caulerpa. Every 3 or 4 days, I flip the macro, separate it a bit, and clear out the power head I have in the fuge. When I do this, I get a fair amount of fine particulate matter that finds it's way into the DT.
Well, the corals just seem to go crazy for this stuff. Especially the blasto, green slimer and hammer. I know it's just detritus that is making it's way past the socks and skimmer, but if the corals are happy (and they seem to be) I'm happy. Plus, it keeps the fuge clean. Win/Win.
Just wondering if anyone else feeds their corals with this method. Seems to keep all of the corals happy.
Thoughts?
