Free coral!!

Just found a Craigslist post for free coral! Lady is taking down her tank because she doesn’t have time for it anymore.

She said she has macro algae, Xenia, and a mushroom. Pretty simple stuff, but it is free!

Will it be OK in a bag, in a cooler for about an 1 1/2 hours? My brother has his guitar lesson and then we have lag time until my lesson. She is only located 13 minutes away from his lesson, so it works well.

I’m just concerned they might not do so well for that amount of time?

Corals are shipped overnight and typically do just fine. Xenia doesn't transport super well on long journeys so make sure its definitely insulated and has enough water.

Wdym 1/12 hours? If it's 1 and a half hours they will most likely be fine

If its the same type of clown then you could add one more but they will fight lots until one dies or changes back to male

Darn! By the topic line I thought you were sending that free stuff to me ! . Bring a decent cooler and even just some newspaper to scrunch up loosely inside around the bags for a bit of insulation/ keeping them steady. You'll be good to go.

Agreed they are born male with the ability to switch to female. Once they go female they cant go back

Unless the partner very recently died and it was the smaller of the two. Unlikely as within a month the change will happen from male to female.

Eh, probably not. It sounds like she wants to take proper care of the tank but she can’t.

It’s free, I’d take it.
Keep in mind, it may come with stuff you don’t want so QT would be important.
The macro I would not touch for the same reasons and is not worth cleaning. Can easily hide Aptasia
