Free floating mushroom

I got this mushroom coral today and it unattached from the plug. I tried to set it at the base of the rock but it seems to keep moving away. I have the power heads turned off right now until it settles. Should I just let it travel around? Will it pick a spot eventually? My first coral.

Your best bet IMO is to place the mushroom in a small glass bowl full of rubble and let it attach on it's own. Once this happens you can glue it wherever you want in the tank. You might want to use some netting and cover the bowl so the mushroom doesn't float away though. GL.

I bought a free floating mushroom pack from liveaquaria when I first got into the hobby. The ones that settled were great, but a lot of them drifted to bad locations in the tank and either died or went awol. I would do what cloak recommended or turn off the power heads that blow in the location you want to put them for a few days to prevent them from getting blown around before they attach
