Free PAR meter? Photone App.

I’m a little hesitant to do this as salt water will completely ruin a phone even if it’s “water resistant” as the new iPhones say they are.

Ziploc bags worked for other people? Slightest air pressure in the bag will open up the zip if there’s any gaps I’d imagine.
I've had my phone in salt water multiple times with no problems(the tank and the ocean). Still looks and works like new. Its an LG, not an iphone.

Doesn’t the salt erode all the components, especially anything metal if it does come into contact?

Yes, works great....

Now i read that calibration is not needed, so i will tomorow run another measurement, now its too late, lights are dim....

Sadly, still cant upload pic from previous measuring, so.....

One thing i noticed, phone gets very hot during app use, not sure why, and sometimes get inresponsive, so u need to force it to shut down and restart, but this can be various reason.....
Remember only one calibration is needed from air to inside bag but the second one is no longer needed which to composite for the water immersion

I suppose it could, but I haven't had a problem. I always wash my phone off on the sink after the salt water and its been fine. Your phone may be different than mine so you may have different results.

Would someone who purchased the Photone's "LED Full Spec" app, do me a favorite, please. Measure at the water surface height will be good enough.
Firstly, measure your LED lighting a couple of times with the "Sun Direct" app which is the FREE app and record the average PPFD.
Secondly, immediately measure with the "LED Full Spec" app at the exact same spot and same lighting settings. And record the average PPFD.
Post the two average PPFD numbers. I would like to know their PPFD co-relate factor. Thank you for the help!

Ok, u killing me ;)

So, now i have to calibrate again....

For the T5/led hybrid, is it best to use the blue/white led or full spectrum led?

B/W Spectrum...
Thank you. I just did this today and it was pretty awesome. Just as an fyi for people— if you have an iPhone you can turn on guided access when in the app and turn off screen touch to avoid paying for their pro mode to turn off “hold” (this happens when the bag touches the screen and makes it malfunction) .

Doesn’t the b/w spectrum require payment anyway making the point moot?

I just downloaded the app. Then this appeared.:D

I would also be game if you want to test on a smaller tank. In in Europe though so that might be an issue.
My tank is very new, 60x30x30 cm
