Looks like it's his safe spot, against aggression. They get pretty big,he might rule that tank in a couple years.

I would agree, the two tangs and that other angel(I cant tell exactly what it is in the picture, juvi blue maybe?) might be bullying him a bit. As long as he keeps eating and maintaining color I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you see over aggression and nipped fins or the fish stops eating you might need to consider removing it or the fish bullying it.

X2 this is usually hiding from an aggressor. How long ago did you add the fish?

Tankmates?

2 large angels can be problematic in a 180g. They can be aggressive toward each other. But due to that aggression, the french is staying in the corner.

As above really, likely aggression. How big is the scribbled angel that's photobombing?

Your French angel is scared. Your 9 inch Scribble is likely the cause. At 9", in a 180, you might want to think about a rehoming plan or an upgrade. FYI, if properly fed and housed that French angel, just like a Queen, and Grey will grow exponentially over the next year or two. My very juvi Queen has doubled in size in just 5 months.

Juvenile French's are kind of shy any way, esp when they're first introduced. If their aren't any marks or split fins, or you don't witness any overt aggressive acts against him, and he's eating then I wouldn't worry about it.

Ok thank for you information

I'm thinking aggression as well. If possible you can try rearranging the rock in your tank. That sometimes helps with a bully. Normally I'd recommend an acclimation box but I think all your guys are too big.

Are there enough rock caves for the French to hide in? On a reef juvenile French Angels are cleaner fish but they must have a safe spot to hide in. They will venture out to graze and clean larger fish, but they are otherwise shy until they get about 4-5 inches. They get huge!

Beautiful picture SMB! I was looking through my pictures to find a nice one of a French Angel but I think I'll refrain from posting one after yours! :D
