In talking with some of the fellow hobbiest's near me the consensus seems to be going to less frequent water changes. I used to do 10% per week while dosing with B Ionic 2 part.
This time around I was thinking of going to 10% every 3 weeks or possibly even once per month while dosing with B Ionic 2 part.
The reason people have been going less frequent is the stability they are getting with their params in going longer in between changes and that makes good sense to me.
I know I have seen some great looking tanks that are going this route.
Seems to me that there are 100 different ways to skin a cat in this hobby but the ones having the most success are the ones that are the most consistent regardless of which route they take.
Opinions??

I used to be religous with changing my water every other week.

Then I wanted to see what 3 weeks would do... the 4 weeks...etc etc... I haven't changed my water now in 2 months and all is well. I don't add any trace elements. I do dose Cal and Alk.

I am going to do a water change here this week just because I feel guilty

I've been doing the opposite and getting great results. 50% water changes with ESV salt mix a week on my nano so params are reset to ideal before there's much of any depletion. I do feed a LOT though...

I do about 15% every week. My tank really seems to like it. And I do not have to dose as much as I was when doing waterchanges every other week
