Fresh air

My pH had been running around 8.1 on average during the winter. I opened a window in my basement and let in fresh air for two weeks and my pH inched up to 8.35. It's starting to get warm here in Minnesota so I turned on the AC and closed up the house. My pH is now back under 8.1.

I'm looking for ways to plumb fresh air to my skimmer. Has anyone done anything creative that I can replicate? Other than a scrubber or open window, of course.

Run a line from your skimmer to the outside. That's a common way to do it. Another is to put an air pump outside and run the line to a stone in the sump/tank.

I run a scrubber all summer long in Arizona. Not cheap, but keeps the pH in the 8.1-8.3 range.

You can also run Kalk, if your tank can consume the Calc. and alk.

That's what I'm aiming for. Looking for a simple way to plumb my skimmer to the outdoors without leaving a window open.

I could dose kalk but I already use ATI Essentials Pro for Ca and alkalinity so I would have to change up a couple things it seems like outside air would be the most reliable method.
