Fresh to salt water

Can you use filters and heaters from a fresh water tank for a saltwater tank? If so do you need to clean them really good or are they just fine to throw on there?

They're fine to throw right in, however I'd probably clean them off- there may be organisms in/on your equipment that will likely not tolerate the change in salinity. Cleaning the equipment will help remove them before they die, so you won't have to deal with the byproducts associated with their death. It's also a great way to clean out all the crud that accumulated that will only add nutrients to your water
