I newly purchased square patch Anthias has flukes. I was all prepared to do a fresh water dip but was not sure how to match PH. I used some of my doser ( BRS 2 part) Alk solution and added several drops into the gallon od RO/DI until the PH was matched. Then I got scared!!! Is this the wrong way to buffer the water or can I just do it. I also checked the Alk level and it was way low.... I need your insight of this, thank you all.

Alk doesn't matter. You can use baking soda to buff the water as well.

You should be just fine.

Thank you. I also have 4 other fish in QT tank - SO should I dip all of them in same 1 gallon bucket? Goby, 6 line wrasse, sailfin tang and B cardinal. No signs of flukes on then. I also have added Prazi which I normally do after copper but freaked out and added it.

If you already dosed prazi, the dip isn't necessary. Keep a close eye on the QT and watch for cloudy water. Bacterial blooms can happen with Prazipro+copper. When they take off it can deplete the available oxygen very quickly.

I'd recommend keeping a waterchange mixed and heated so if a bloom starts you can do a WC immediately.

Ok then. I have my Brute ready with 15 gallons, heater on and power ready to go. Is it advised to add the copper (cupramine) now? Since the wrasse is involved I want to ramp up slowly - 4-5 days any way? Sorry if I seem ignorant bur QT scares me. Appreciate your efforts.

So you haven't added any copper yet? I wouldn't combine them if you haven't already.

Run your prazi treatments, then a large WC and begin copper. Combining them isn't worth the risk IMO.

What you did should be fine, as mentioned.
I've found that the easiest way to match pH is to just add a small amount of clean saltwater to the freshwater.
This has a negligible effect on salinity but will bring the pH close to where you want it.
