Fresh water plants for tangs ?

Food for thought...LOL. The waters that the seaweed we buy is grown in could be heavily polluted. Some plants grow well in these types of waters. But we could be feeding this to tangs.

Before nori became more popular we used to freeze an individual piece of romaine and put it in a clip. Softens it up but not enough to turn to mush.

My guys like it crispy and crunchy. Not as good for them when it starts to wilt.

6 years ago I fed my new tangs romain lettuce in quarantine. Admittedly I might have fed a good bit but they definitely preferred it over anything else. Unfortunately, before they even made it out of QT, all 3 had pretty severe HLLE. At the time, we attributed it to the lettuce. Stopped feeding lettuce and it stopped getting worse. Over the years, it's gone away.

That said, I know some big tanks on YouTube feed the stuff so idk it's a 100% cautionary tale. But I know I don't feed it anymore.
