I have 3 pieces (~10 or #15#) of CaribSea Life Rock that I didn’t need in a tank so I stuck it in my African cichlids freshwater tank. It’s been there for a month or so. I now have a need for it in a new FOWLR tank that I’m setting up. I’ve ordered some new Real Reef Rock from BRS which will need to cure when it arrives.
Can I simply transfer the rock from the fresh tank along with the newly delivered rock and let them cure together? I know the nitrifying bacteria in fresh is different from Salt - just wondering if it’ll negatively affect the cure. No fish Are going into the tank anytime soon. I’m just curing the rock and sand in the new DT until the cycle completes.
