Fresh's 90gallon build

This is nothing special but its what I am stuck with for now. I had a 180 but split open and what was alive I kept in a 40 gallon tank. Then my buddy upgraded from a 90 to a 120 and he gave me his 90 so this is what happened. Hope u enjoy.

A few parts

100lbs of live sand

When I set this up it was only to hold what was left of my corals until I got my 300 running... That didn't happen so I stuck with this

Ghetto plumbing but it worked

Filled up and cloudy

Picked up a light from a fellow reefer,
I had never did a t5 light b4 so I was sketchy

I like this pic bc is really showed how the light changes with dept

This is my 300 I had up for 3 months b4 I sold my house and had to put it into storage.....sad face

So this was some rock thrown in and the corals I had at the time

Corals were so not happy

Really really bad pic but those are utter nightmares.

Tossed my Vegas on the tank from my 300 bc the 300 doesn't need them

So much prettier and the pops amazing

Made a light hanging set up and tossed 4 Vegas above the tank side ways I love it so much

I now have the opportunity to build my dream tank not sure if I should or if I should pay a company to make it...

My dream tank is a 48x30x30

I'm living in an apartment right now so long tanks are out of the question, the tank I want to build would still be a 187 gallon tank.
The nice thing is most of my equipment will be able to transfer over maybe just a stronger return up, and if the wife oks it maybe a new skimmer.

What do you guys think.
I'll post some progress pics soon.

Idk well see. The price for the glass isn't got bad and all the silicone wouldn't cost to much either, but there is a feel about making something so big my self verse having a pro company build it.

I guess it does down to how much is a sence of security worth...

Just a gew updates. Ive gotten rid of almost all softies and lps.

This was all brown when I got It and now the tips are turning pink and yellow. I cant wait to see this color up.

I HAVE BEEN LIED TO! So I just broke down my 60 gallon frag tank. I have to start cutting bills before we buy a house and move so the 60 frag tank had to go. I had some nice chalices and sps in that tank doing very well; and it was a simple set up. 60 gallon tank hob skimmer hob filter that held filter mesh, a small tlf carbon reactor and two power heads. Also a 8 bulb t5 light fixture.

So I moved my chalices and sps into my display tank and they looked amazing under my led lighting. So that made me do some backwords thinking? How come my frags from my frag tank look some much better then the corals that are in there right now? So just being curious I rook down my leds and tossed up my t5 light on the tank.... it was shocking to see what I saw... a lot of the corals that looked like they were doing good in the tank were not doing good. I could tell that they were bleached out on the spots that were being hit by direst led lighting. ( if that makes sense) the leds lied about coloration... I feel so bad bc I thoight I was providing a good homw to my corals... this really makes me think how where the corals even growing? But some how they did...

So now I think I might look at a nicer model of a t5 light. Maybe one that can ramp the lighting up for morning and down for sunset. It would be nice to find one woth JUST blue leds to give it a nice shimmer and moonlight look. If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear them.

So in the end just really check ur corals and make sure they are doing good. Maybe supplament in t5s if u can...
