Freshwater and saltwater diseases

Hello, I’m just wondering, sense I have both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Can things like flukes transfer between the two or are freshwater flukes or ick not able to survive in saltwater or the other way around?

I never really thought about it but I use the same buckets and siphon hoses. Probably not a good idea. I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me until today.

There are fresh and saltwater versions of flukes and ich. They don't survive long term in each other's environments. But for the sake of the cost of a siphon hose, buckets and other cleaning equipment I'd just have a separate set for each.
