Not sure. Tom said that he may lose sight in that eye, if he hasn't already, but could be fine anyway. He showed me a sunshine peacock that is apparently blind in both eyes (her eyes looked real similar to your guys but on the inside not the outside), but still manages to boss and bully all the convicts she's in the tank with and get just as much food as the rest. Weird.

Just an update guys- treated with both Pimafix and Melafix for a week. No real improvement. :mad:

That stuff makes a mess of a tank, just for future reference. They both advertised safe for freshwater plants, and they were right. I rolled the dice and treated the entire tank, plants and all. All plants are fine and all fish are healthy (minus the one's eye, obviously). It puts a film all over the glass though and clouds the water bad. I did about a 60% WC today and had to use a Brillo pad to clean the glass.

Water is looking good again and I'm running new carbon again. I'm not sure if trying another round in a week or two is worth doing or not. I'm doubtful at this point. Unfortunately I think it just is what it is. He seems perfectly fine minus the eye.

Again, really appreciate everyone for their input!

Sorry it didn't work sweetie. As long as he isn't suffering because of the eye and it's not getting worse, then just let him be a bit gimpy. Gives him character as my husband would say.

I'm sorry the medications didn't help. Maybe the spot will go away on its own with time
