I have some leftover aragonite sand from a cichlid fry tank and was wondering if I can use that sand for my tank (75 reef).
I would rinse before use.
Thanks.

Yes, if you are happy with the grain size

Its the same stuff. So yes will work just fine in saltwater.

What do you use to rinse it? Just got started in saltwater and wanted to use the aragonite gravel in my freshwater to the saltwater tank.

I just ended up rinsing it a bunch to get the dust out in a bucket and a garden hose and used it in my refugium.
Which currently houses a pistol shrimp and goby pair, along with some corals and an urchin.

(The goby did poorly in the display and have done better in the sump so they have stayed there, it is big enough to house them around 12g section)

Rinse small batches very well.
I also use it in my fuge to plant my mangroves.

You can rinse in just water, but if you want to make sure nothing is left alive you can bleach the gravel.
