I have 2 tangs in full strength copper right now. I have noticed one of them flashing. I would like to do a freshwater dip or a formalin bath. Can I just take them out of full strength copper and put them in to a freshwater dip/formalin bath?

Thanks!

I did freshwater dips as I was ramping my copper levels up. I’d imagine it would be ok as long as you watch for distress. I wouldn’t mind the typical laying down that most will do.

It’s fine to do FW dips during copper. I always use a clean sterile bowl to do them. Even though they are out of copper it doesn’t reset the clock because SW parasites aren’t present in FW. :)

I was more worried about going from copper to no copper then back...

No issue there since it’s such a short period of time.
