Freshwater eggs for food?

My favorite time of year is finally upon me. The northern Michigan Salmon run. I'll be heading up this weekend for fishing. I always end up with salmon roe as it's the bait I use. My question is would this also be acceptable to feed my fish? I always end up with extra that gets tossed.

I would not. If uneaten, they have a slime that will foul your water upon decaying. Im in Sheboygan where it is known as fdishing capital (LOL) and seen many of these eggs squirt and substance is milky

That was my concern also. They work excellent on the salmon however they sour quickly even with refrigeration. Thanks for the reply.
