Thanks :)

Thank you, they are very easy to maintain if you are looking at getting one
My wife seen the planted tanks (setup in the flex) for the first time and is tossing it around. They would make a sharp looking reef tank but the lights wouldn't support corals. I have a feeling we will have one setup before long.

Lol i think, if you wanted to keep it as a reef tank you could remove the lid and use hangon lights if you wanted, which would support corals. I think ive heard rumours that they may bring out a reef version but im not 100% sure if thay is true or not

They just came out with a 30 gallon with stronger lights and Bluetooth. We seen one of those as well. Sharp!

So in terms of stocking this tank, I'd like to keep some of the following anf if anyone sees any complications please point them out lol cus im a bit of a newb with freshwater. So...
-10+ celestial pearl danios
-6 Pygmy corydoras
-4+ otocinclus
-2 to 3 snakehead bettas
- small group of liquorice gouramis
-small group of clown killifish
-cherry shrimp

Obviously i cant keep all of these but does anyone have any thoughys on this selection

So yesterday i added 6 pygmy corydoras, and they are adorable fish, aswell as 2 amano shrimp who are excellent algae eaters so far, only 1 nerite snail has survived our of 3 but that was due to me not testing the water at that stage, so lesson learnt that snails are even sensitive to ammonia, no idea why i thought they wouldn't be.

They are so tiny, smallest fish ive ever had lol

Beautiful tank! Love, love your scape and plant selection!

Also, you'll love adding the cherry shrimp to the setup! I had a 5g nano planted tank specifically for cherry shrimp. Loved watching them. They're such characters!

are you going to dose or run CO2?

i have a "natural planted aqaurium or Walstad Method" 55g planted tank. Super easy, grows any root feeder plant very well. I have about 22 fish in it right now.
I dose co2 using easycarbo, just cause i find it easier to understand than running it lol, whats the walstad metho it sounds cool lol, what fish do you keep

Thanks lol, i plan on adding cherry shrimp in a couple of weeks when i get to a big lfs that has them in every colour lol, love the red and blue ones

Give it a Google. The gist is two layers of substrate. Garden soil and then some sort of sand on top of it. I use pool filter sand.

No dosing, just a decent to heavy fish bioload is all you need. I change the water once a month. I run UV whenever I add a new fish.

The stars of the tank right now are 6x neon tetra, 3x angelfish, 2x turquoise rainbow fish

We got my 8 year old son a Fluval flex. We went through our cycle at the same time and added fish at the same time.

He has

5 x Harlequin Rasbora (3 orange, 2 black)
4 x Endler's livebearer (2M 2F)

All the plant decorations are fake, he picked out the decorations himself.

Ill give it a look, sounds like a good idea, ill try it out with another tank as i already have substrate in this one, if im allowed another that is lol,

Im only dosing for the alternanthea reineckii, as it was turning green from red, and read it needs higher CO2 for the red colour so decided to dose some, so once i get more fish ill try that method of not dosing and let the fish keep CO2 up lol
Do you have any pictures, id love to see your tank lol sounds like an interesting selection of fish
