Hi Everyone,

I got my son two fancy goldfish today and my daughter a fire fish for the QT tank.

I didn’t notice until after that the two fancy goldfish have ich.

my issue is that we used the same net for the fire fish. We washed it but to be honest not that well.

Question can freshwater ich survive saltwater?

Second ?? Is ich-x the best freshwater ich treatment.

Thanks T

Salt and fresh water ick won't survive in the other.
Been a long time since I've had fresh water so I'm not sure. Seems like I remember putting a little salt in the fresh water to keep away ick. But, it has been a long time so my memory might be fuzzy.

freshwater ich can’t survive in saltwater, and vice versa for saltwater. That is why we always do a fresh water dip when saltwater fish have ich, it help to eliminate them.

Freshwater ich and marine "ich" are not even in the same genus actually, marine ich is not even properly called "ich". Totally safe as the salinity will kill freshwater ich and vice versa.

What about internal parasites?? Regardless took everything, used pure vinegar and dried everything thoroughly.
