Freshwater Molly in Reef Tank

I have been reading about people acclimating freshwater Mollies to saltwater to use in reef tanks for algae control.

We went to Aqua Dreams today and Chris had tank raised Mollies that he sold already acclimated so we decided to try one out. It is pretty cool seeing a freshwater fish in a reef tank. Actually I think the Molly looks prettier in saltwater.

Has anyone else tried this?

My brother had one in his tank that we inherited when he moved. Like so many other fish that are tasked with eating algae...it did nothing. But agree it was interesting seeing it in a reef enviornment.

We will see, we don't really have any large algae issues so not too concerned about that. Just wanted to try something a little different.

That's awesome Jason! I new that could survive in Brackish water but not full reef salinity. Really cool!

Rich has one or 2 in his tank. It been there ever since I've been helping him. Maybe 5 months but it's probably been there longer

So far I haven't see her graze, but she is just getting acclimated to her new tank. Either way it's cool

I have a Molly in my reef tank. It even have fry that I am raising in my sump.
