hi all, I have many tanks running in the house, (9 at the moment) I have an HOB fliter on my 120gl Discus Tank. but I also have 2 canister filters on that tank and I plan on adding
some Chemi-pure to one of the canisters today. when I do that I really have no more need for the HOB on this tank as I was using it primarily for Chemical filtration.

My question is this, can I add this HOB filter directly to my 75 gl Saltwater setup or does it need cleaned first. I am thinking because it is fresh to Salt I can add directly over without cleaning it first.

thoughts???

Id let it soak overnight in ro water mixed with vinegar, let it air dry a couple days and put it to use.

lol, it took you longer to create this thread than it would have to just clean the HOB filter..

it may not hurt anything to transfer it right over, but wouldn't that 5-10 minutes be worth the peace of mind?

if it were me, I'd clean/scrub it, then wash it well with vinegar, rinse it, let it dry..
