Hey, so the tank is only about 2-3 months old, and the LFS gave me a handful of their coralline and told me to crush and add to the tank. I think I’m seeing a small amount of growth no. Still nothing dramatic. And yes dosing calcium keeping it within 420-450ppm. And alkalinity is between 8-9 ish (most recent figures from my tests Sunday). I think I must agree with you, it may be too new to see significant coralline growth. It’s been about a week since adding the chips and I’m seeing tiny reddish hard spots on some of my islands in the corners of the tank and hopefully that is some growth. I always forget this hobby does require patience ‘I know it tends to do well in high flow...you have that. So, man, I am guessing your tank is just young. A tank I cycled around 3 months ago was done with cultures from my other tank and has mature live rock in it...but not until recently did it start coraline growth to a significant extent.
I guess I never asked the age of your tank, it seems to me though, it shouldn't be a huge issue.
I know people use coraline as a measuring stick for tank maturity...so I would guess your tank isn't incredibly mature.
If it is, however...is everything else seeming healthy? It could be a calcium issue. Do you dose calcium?
WHAT DAY IS IT!??? Time to resurrect this thread!! Post up your FTS, y'all!!!

but I'll play along!
week 3 of cycling! OMG why does it take so long to cycle ??
