Just playing around with the camera tonight. I love taking pictures under my halide light, but I do need a new bulb so my tank doesn't have that yellow tint.

Well I only have probably a year or so when my tank will look that good. Just beautiful
Thanks so much for sharing

Thanks Bob! This tank is my favorite of all my tanks I've ever had. Its been running for a few years now. I'm currently giving it a complete overhaul with a new rock scape and I'm adding a sump, algae scrubber, dosing pump, rock reactor, and refugium for macro algae. Also I just recently switched from a kessil A150 to a 150watt metal halide!

My main secret to success is I do weekly one gallon water changes with real ocean water. But with all my corals growing so well, water changes are no longer able to keep up with my Alk/Cal needs. So that's why I'm adding a dosing pump.

Here's a link to my overhaul build thread

Wow I know the 150 isn't really "tune able" why wouldn't you go with a kessell 360 unless you had halides already

Well even though kessils are nice, it was turning some of my acros green. And after some research,I found others had the same issues. So I decided I wanted growth over just popping colors, and went with a 150 watt halide. Yes I have a slight temp issue. But I run a fan and it keeps me about 78-80* but after I install my new cabinet, it has a cooling over the sump. So I will be able to get rid of the cooling fan hanging on the side of my tank.

Now the current bulb in my halide is a older bulb. I chose to run the older bulb so I didn't shock my corals with a bright new 20k bulb. This way they have a transition period from led to halide. At the end of this month I will replace the bulb with a new 20k Phoenix bulb

Cool, I'm waiting for my QT to cycle then for a bonus check ( and a disability check) I'll be upgrading to a 65 gal tank from a freshwater 37 gal tank. I have most things for it already. Started with Vortech MP 10 pumps, full apex controller system ( the $545.00 but have add one) a floating sand bed filter, Current USA reef lights, innovative marine reactor. I have freshwater stuff that I need to sell, two aquatop CF 500 canister filters, a CPR XL HOB refugium, marineland light and so on but I will probably give them away to a school and a friend that needs them more than me
