Friend came off in dip

Just returned home from purchasing some coral frags. A mini colony went in the CoralRX dip and I saw this come off. Had the head of a Bobbit worm. All the other things also came off.

Not sure if it is? About 1.5-2” long. Interesting coloration.

That looks like a medusa worm to me, I have a million of them in my tank and they don't seem to bother anything. They reproduce like you would not believe though

Ugly suckers! He survived the 5 minute bath and another 5 minutes while I dealt with the coral. I put him back in straight salt water and he is fine apparently. Stretched out he is now almost 3”

Thats about as big as mine ever get. When i researched them people said they were a good part of a CUC so I left them. I'd get a 2nd opinion though

My wife’s second opinion is “he is ugly” LOL. He won’t be joining the CUC team.

Just read this:

I found that too, however there are other gigantic medusa worms out there, I do not believe that these are those type, these seem to stay pretty small.

More importantly what is that in the center of the tray. Sort of looks like a flatworm.

Yes. I saw that also. I dose daily with KZ Flatworm Stop.

I see 10+ worms that look like Acro Eating Flatworms. I would not let this coral anywhere near your reef. Does the colony have eggs on it?

I would have either ditched that coral or at least placed in a Quarantine tank with weekly dips after seeing the flatworms. I'm not sure if KZ flatworm is really a solution (not saying it isn't)

Did not see eggs on the colony using magnifying glass.
