They aren’t really a foe but they multiply quick and can be everywhere before you know. May irritate a coral if touching it

What is the best way to remove them if they start to become too populous?

I take a pair of tweezers and dig down in the sand and just pull them out when I am doing tank maintenance. They are good clean up just have to keep them in check

Thanks everyone! New to the saltwater side of the hobby (rescued a little 5 gal EVO setup whose inhabitants were about to be literally flushed ), so this has been helpful and reassuring! I am battling parameters that were out of whack and green hair algea from their previous neglect, glad I don't have another major issue to deal with!

Good luck! Add a turbo snail it will help a lot with the algae

Yup. Spaghetti worm. If not wanted, small fork works great.
