Hi everyone. I was cleaning some BRS reef saver rock for my new aquarium when a frog jumped out of the rock. This rock has been sitting for about a month in the shipping bag. It is funny to see a frog in Indiana in December. Does anyone know what type of frog this is? Thanks

It's certainly a tree frog; that's amazing that it has survived for at least a month in a bag!

A common tree frog we have here is the American green tree frog. Google that and see if your guy looks like him. To the best of my limited knowledge, I would think Indiana is out of his range. So then, where did he decide to hitchhike on this rock?

Time to set up a frog habitat so this guy can winter over.

He must have hitchhiked from Florida where the rock is mined, to Bulk Reef Supply in Minnesota, to my house in central Indiana. He has had quite a ride.

The only species we have here in Minnesota that looks like even close is Pseudacris crucifer.
