Hey guys I've got a pretty good sized frog spawn that was given to me, it was a "branch" that broke off the main body of the colony.

It has a long section of hard part that extends about six to eight inches from the actual head of the coral.

My question is how much of that can I break off? It had several "dead" heads that I was just able to get to crumble off. I'd like to crop it close to keep it healthy and so I don't have to bury it so deep in the sand.

Thanks for the help!!

Matt

I clip mine right up to the flesh with no ill affect. this is my most recent frag in front. Mom in back.

Just be careful the bone has a tendency to split when cutting.

You could probably take half probably more. I've gotten frags of branching frogspawn that only have inch maybe less of Skelton. Personally didn't like how those frags looked.

I prefer a longer stalk to but my heads get shaded out by the upper layers so I have to remove them so they don't die. And with this type of frog the bone is fat and short. So its hard to get much stalk

Thanks guys

So as long as I don't get into the, for lack of knowledge, and I watch for splitting, I should be good?
