Frog spawn suddenly dying after having it for one year.

I’ve had my frog spawn coral for almost a year now, just about as long as I’ve had my tank. It’s been doing well since then. Within the past week I’ve noticed it seemed to not be opening as much and is now receding. My water parameters haven’t changed and the only thing that fluctuates a little is alkalinity because I dose it manually. Any idea what could be going on? Do corals just sometimes die for no reason? Thanks for any input.

Around 1dKH. I try and keep it between 8 and 9dKH.

That’s not going to kill a frogspawn. My tank went up and down that much every day for many months til I got a dosing pump. It’s a mixed reef and I used about 1 dkh per day.

There’s actually another half to this frog spawn that I accidentally broke off when glueing it in the tank and it seems ok so far. Everything else seems to be doing well.

Like you said it seems to be melting away. I’ve been checking for brown goo and it’s hard to tell. There do seem to be a few darker spots but I’m not sure if it’s brown goo.

Oh you'll know brown jelly disease when you see it, theres no mistaking it. The flesh literally turns to brown goo.

It's usually brought on by poor water parameters, or an injury from being blasted with flow, or damage from shipping.

Actually I just noticed it looks like my acan is starting to turn brown but it doesn’t look like brown jelly, it’s just brown. Do you think it could be brown jelly and if so is there anything I can do?
