I think this head of frog spawn is dead. Do I remove it or just let nature take is course??

Will affect the other heads?

It’s mouth is gaping I just don’t want whatever happened to spread. It started about 2 days ago.
water tests have shown that every thing is normal. All other corals hard and soft are in great if not excellent condition.

It’s hard to tell from the current picture, another photo of the frog with a different angle or slightly retracted might help (just gently touch it so it retracts).

Have you seen any brown gunk/jelly on the head?

All of my frogspawn, hammers, and torches get a puffy or gaping mouth (in addition to looking rough) when they are about to split/are a new split. Is that head a new split for yours?

It’s actually loosing the tentacles‍ I will try and get a couple of new pictures. . I’m very concerned for the remaining 3 heads..

I haven’t had any brown gunk. One of the other heads recently split and it looked completely different than what this is. I’m not sure if I should leave it or remove the dead / dying.

frogspawn heads can make a comeback, if water quality is good and there is nothing in the tank nipping at it.

Judging from the white rocks and beginning of diatoms, I would guess its a very new tank. it will struggle in a new tank, just do your best to keep all parameters as steady as possible every day.

Looks a little irritated but not dead yet. They can and will bounce back if everything is good in tank.

Some say euphyllia aren’t for new tanks but I had a hammer coral within a month and it lasted almost 3 years before I last it this summer sadly.
