Im conflicted, I have a 29 biocube and was trying to decide between a painted frogfish or a fuzzy dwarf lionfish

not sure on the frog, but the fuzzy dwarf is on the big side, they're messy also, so nutrients are constantly a problem.
Yes, I am well aware of them being messy. I did research them and narrowed my choice down to those two

Either will work. For long term success you will likely be better off with the lionfish. It is likely that fewer than half of anglers make it for a year. personally I like anglers better, though.

I was thinking the same for dwarf lionfish, it would also be more active and I could have more CUC (I've read anglers go after emerald crabs alot more than dwarf fuzzies. Dwarf fuzzies also seem to be easier to convert to frozen food and like you said, live longer

Emerald crabs make nice snacks for anglers - personal experience!
