Bought this guy on the forum, not the sellers fault, assume it’s the shipping company’s fault. But showed up like this and I dipped him in revive but from my expierence, zooanthalalgae in the bag, open mouths, skin flaking, I think it’s a goner. Beyond upset:( just wanted a second opinion.

Also got this hammer in the same shipment, but from my expierence, frogspawn are much more sensitive than hammers are.

I see Tentacles on both. Give them some light and moderate flow. Few days might help. Both pieces could pull through... They just look very closed, and angry....
I also see some Cyano on bottom. Is this tank new?? Stable water parameters?

5-6 months new, literally just put them in, I got another hammer In there doing great! I can move them to my biocube, but I got multiple high end lps in there so I wasn’t going to take the risks.

Best thing to do is leave it alone and let it rest. The more you move it, the worse it makes it. I have found that Torches, Hammers and Frogspawn need a few days to fully open up after they have been moved.... In some instances, torches can take a week up to 3 weeks to fully acclimate. Frogspawn a little faster....

Also do you use GFO by any chance? If so and your nutrients are bottomed out, there would be no food in the water for your corals to consume... The Red Cyano could explain this...

That being said, yeah please let the corals rest and acclimate.

Yeah I get that, this just the panic phase. Do or die pretty much.

I don’t have a gfo, been meaning to get one, but with covid and everything guess i forgot. I have cyano for awhile, I can move them to my biocube, but with the shape of my frog, I wouldn’t want BJD to form overnight and cause my torches/lps garden to die off.

What are your Phosphates and Nitrates?

I did check salinity, it’s a little high, and the temp is low. My other hammer is happy though, so I’m thinking my Hannah checker needs to be recalibrated

If anything, I’ll move the new hammer over, and let the frog be.

What are the readings in the tank where the corals are not opening??

Little update to this thread, 3 heads are still looking rough, gaping mouths and a start to flaking
