Hi, two of my frogspawn heads has been deflated since morning. I noticed that mouth was slightly opened with white guts hanging out slightly. There's also a stinky scent around my tank, but not that strong. Is my frogspawn dying? If so will it cause an ammonia spike? Should I remove it asap?
My nitrate is low, I do my water changes
My phosphate was .04
Alk: 8

Is it getting any flow? The drooping makes it look like it's sitting in stagnant water. It is still living and looks like it can definetly recover so don't remove it.

I'll try giving it more flow. If it happens to just die, will it affect the water quality?

Yes, but don't let that be your primary concern. Focus on keeping it healthy.

I just checked back hours later. Seems like a big piece is falling out. As you can see the skeleton is showing
Now it just seems if there's too much flow. i didnt change anything since my first post. [emoji848]

The flow should be moving all of the polyps at a low/ moderate rate (don't point the power head directly at it)

What are you feeding?
Any other corals in the tank?
What kind of lighting do you have?
What are your other water parameters at? Ammonia, temp, ph, cal

I dont feed the coras usualy, just pellets and mysis for fish. I have other Euphyllias, spagetti leather, zoas, xenia, kenya tree, and a BTA
for lighting I use Orbit marine pro.
I think I know what caused it though. the same day it happened. I was doing a little rockscaping and I remember it was bothering the frogspawn that was very close to it. In fact I might've hit it gently with the rock accidentally.

Is it possible for the head(soft part) of the frogspawn to reattach to the skeleton?

Yes it's possible but it will take time.. if you damaged the skeleton you'll want to make sure you keep your cal and alk stable so it can rejuvenate. I would start feeding your LPS, as well as your BTA mysis 1/2 times per week via tweezers

How's the nem looking? The orbit marine pro lights only contain .5W LED bulbs which don't penetrate water nearly as well as full watt LED bulbs.

The bta is doing pretty well, I just got a small ocellaris clown to host it yesterday. I got the orbit marine lights cause I was gonna only keep softies and euphyllias. I was a little worried about the bta, but it's doing great so far. I've had it for almost a month now, I fed it mysis once every week, but since I got a clown to host it. I probably don't have to worry about.
But I'll consider a stronger light in the future especially for the bta.
This picture is from last week. The frogspawn that's injured right now is the one next to the anemone. That frogspawn was my biggest coral I had in there [emoji20]
Don't mind the dottyback, I don't have it anymore [emoji57]

Looks like his time is up.. it can be difficult for any LPS coral to come back from structural damage.. try to siphon out as much tissue as possible.

Yea....There are actually 2 tiny heads on the sides of the skeleton with green tissue in it. Ill just keep the branch there for the next generation.......
