Frogspawn died?

So today my frogspawn died. I saw it had retracted maybe a little yesterday but most notably today. Was going to do a water change when my boys took naps. It was a little later than usual for naps and when I went to do it I noticed one whole side was dead 3 hrs later. Then, I did a wc and started Carbon, and it’s died even more. I’ve had issues with two of my new corals since I bought them on Black Friday, but no other issues. Certainly nothing that hit this fast and the issues with the other two were no change since I’d added them. The three acans arrived one was fine and one blue sky hammer just tossed in a bag. I’ve had issues with these three corals since I got them, but my frogspawn died tonight and I’m absolutely devastated. My frog was my pride and joy. One of the only corals I’ve had since the beginning. Certainly my largest coral. I’m so distraught and unsure if this is going to wreck my tank. At this point I feel so sick I don’t even want to look at it. I certainly don’t want to set the new tank up. I just want to throw up. I can’t even do large quantities of water changes right now because I can’t get the water I need. I have Covid. I’m quarantined until the 4th and my littlest has shown signs and has to quarantine until the 7th. So until then I’m SOL. Pictures are from 3pm, maybe around 6pm and then now. My favia and leathers etc are all fine.

It definitely looks dead to me on the one side. Maybe check your parameters like ph, Cal, and Alk, Nitrate and Nitrite.

I’m sorry! I know it’s always hard to lose any coral especially our favorites. Euphyllia are often susceptible to bacterial infections as well as brown jelly disease. The worst part is how quickly these diseases move. I’ve lost frags overnight. Nothing can be done to save them. Now I’m not sure if anything can or could have been done to save yours. Keep a close eye on euphyllia near the old frogspawn. How is the hammer? And signs of receding? I would just do water change as soon as it’s safe for you to do so. Hopefully someone else can chime in with better advice! Good luck and I hope you get well soon!

I did a wc today and my alk was low. 7.5, cal 440 and salinity 1.025 I didn’t check nitrate it phosphate since I figured doing a wc would lower that if it was indeed the issue. I don’t see any other issues outside of the aforementioned corals. I’ll post pictures of those. They were all fine when I got them-acans. The hammer was just tossed in a bag. It was doing mildly okay until today. Lots of receding on 2/3 acans But I moved them yesterday when I glued some frags down.

Don't beat yourself up! These things are going to happen. Its what we learn from the experience, and use that knowledge for better reef keeping. If you haven't, I would take the sick coral, and cut off the dead heads to prevent further spread of a possible infection. If you can, dip for bugs and feed amino acids for repair.

I got up this morning and it’s dead entirely. There’s no saving it. It’s the only thing effected and I have no clue what happened.
